Why the Directory was created

I have often been frustrated as a buyer on Etsy.com that there is no easy way to search for a particular type of shop. You can browse items by category, but you can't browse sellers by category. I created this directory to give buyers another way to find the Etsy shops that they are looking for.

How to add your Etsy shop to the Directory

Adding your Etsy shop to the Directory is free. To add your Etsy shop to the Directory, you must first create an account. This step helps prevents spam registrations. After you create an account, click on Submit a Link and fill out the form.

Be sure to enter your shop url in the form http://yourshop.etsy.com. After you submit your link, your shop will be sent to the queue and will be added to the directory as soon as it is reviewed. Please be sure to read the guidelines below.

Guidelines for adding your Etsy shop to the Directory.

Please read the following guidelines before submitting your Etsy shop:

Your link title should match your Etsy shop name.

The Directory is for shops selling handmade items. You must have at least 75% handmade items in your shop in order to be approved for inclusion.

Please choose the most appropriate category for your shop. Keep in mind that buyers are going to be looking for your shop in the correct category, so if you put your shop in the wrong category, they won't be able to find you. Shops and categories may be moved around as work on the best organizational structure for the Directory.

You may submit your shop to a second category if you are selling two entirely different types of items (for example quilts and jewelry). Please do not submit your shop to two categories for the same item type (for example jewelry / beaded and jewelry / semi-precious).

Featured Links

Featured links are displayed above regular links at the top of the category and have a 1x1 gallery-sized Etsy Mini™. There is a maximum of five featured links in a category. They are reserved on a first come, first serve basis and cost $10/month.

To upgrade a regular link to a featured link, first log in to your account. Then click on the "My Shop" link in the top navigation bar. Then click the "Edit" link at the end of your shop description. Click on the featured link radio button and click the "save" button. The click on the Paypal button to visit Paypal's secure payment site.

Adding new categories

Suggestions for new categories are welcome. Please use the contact form to suggest a category.

Editing your Listing

To edit your listing, first log in to your account. Then click on the "My Shop" link in the top navigation bar. Then click the "Edit" link at the end of your shop description.

Broken Links/Closed Shops

If you find a broken link or a closed shop, please report it using the contact form so that I can remove it. Thank you!
