You know how sometimes a piece of art, or a place, or a person, just resonates with you? You see it and you just feel a sort of understanding? That's how I feel about Shellie's fabric on wood art. It just makes me happy.

The item I am reviewing today is hanging on my living room wall, and it was purchased for me by my mom for Christmas - how fabulous is that! This piece is one-of-a-kind and absolutely beautiful. It's made of several colorful fabrics which are polyurethaned to a piece of wood. Sounds simple, and that's part of its charm. It is just simple sections of fabric put together like a puzzle to make a picture. But Shellie has the best eye for colors and patterns.

In this one, named "He Says I'm All Smiles," the colors are vibrant and wonderful. My favorite fabric is the flower fabric used for the skin - it's just luscious. What makes this art work is the combination of colors, patterns, and flow. There are no sharp angles; all the lines are smooth and flowing, and the people really seem alive.

Besides this piece, I also own two small fabric on wood pieces and a couple of prints of my favorites. I check shellieartist.etsy.com every couple of days because I just can't resist checking out her newest work. It makes me smile.
